SVDA visits FVDA in Finland!

This is a description of requirements that will be checked by FHRA tech persons when SVDA come to an FVDA event in Finland. You also find some general information about the Kauhava event, such as how to register and transport information.

The event

  • Location is Kauhava airport.

  • Dates: 13-16/7 2023 (Thursday – Sunday)

  • Planning is like this:
    + Thursday is test & Tune
    + Friday and Saturday are qualifications days.
    + Sunday is elimination & finals.

  • FVDA events are 201 meter for all classes.

  • FVDA Classes

    • Vintage Outlaw: register in FVDA class Vintage Drags

    • Vintage SA: register in FVDA class Vintage Drags

    • A/Gasser: register in FVDA class: Vintage Drags

  • Register to Kauhava

    • As usual, via www.dragracing.eu

    • Price: 280 Euro. 1-phase electricity (220V) costs 30 Euro extra.

    • Last date to register: 2023-06-30

Transport

  • Kapellskär – Nådendal/Åbo (Finnlines)
    Roughly 340 km in Finland.

  • Stockholm – Nådendal/Åbo (Viking Line & Tallink Silja)
    Roughly 340 km in Finland.

  • Stockholm – Helsingfors (Viking Line & Tallink Silja)
    Roughly 400 km in Finland.

  • Umeå – Wasa (Wasaline)
    Roughly 80 km in Finland.

The car

  • Chassis tag
    All cars faster than 10.00/402m (6.40/201m) must have a valid chassis tag. No exemptions are made by FHRA. If you are missing a tag, or if the tag is outdated, then FHRA tech inspector will inspect and tag the chassis at the track. The tag will be valid in Europe for 3 years.
    Price for getting a tag is 100 Euro.

  • Belts
    Belts must have a correct SFI tag according to ET & car type.
    Date on SFI tag not important. If the belt is in good condition, then it will be approved.

  • Transmission

    • Flex plate shield
      Shall have a SFI tag.
      Tag date is not important. If shield is in good working condition it will be approved.

    • Transmission shield
      Shall have a SFI tag.
      Tag date is not important. If shield is in good working condition it will be approved.

    • Transmission housing (SFI approved)
      Shall have a SFI tag.
      Tag date is not important. If shield is in good working condition and no cracks, it will be approved.

    • Bellhousing (SFI approved)
      Shall have a SFI tag.
      Tag date is not important. If shield is in good working condition and no cracks, it will be approved.

  • Engine

    • Blower restraint
      Is required if you are running with blower and alcohol.
      Shall have a SFI tag.
      Tag date is not important. If restraint is in good working condition, it will be approved.

    • Fuel
      Allowed types are: Gasoline, E85 & alcohol. In all classes?

  • Personal equipment
  • Helmet
    Helmet is required to be SNELL 2010 approved and in good condition.

  • Driver suit
    Driver suit (incl gloves & shoe) according to SFI & car type like here in Sweden.
    Dates on tags can be expired according to FHRA rules but will be approved by FHRA tech inspectors if it is in good condition.

Other

  • Fire extinguisher and fire extinguishing blanket is required.
  • Driver license
    You must hav a valid license from Svenska Bilsportförbundet. FHRA can only sell one time licenses to Finnish citizens.
